About Simkay Foods
Turning Surplus into Opportunity and value
Our solutions are utilizing climate smart innovations and eco-efficient systems like solar dryers and collaborating with vegetable smallholder farmers to create sustainable solutions, thereby making significant strides in addressing several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative practices. We are tackling SDG1 (No Poverty) through economic empowerment by providing smallholder farmers with a reliable market and ensuring stable income for them, SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and combating food insecurity by preserving tomatoes and other vegetables, reducing post-harvest losses, and ensuring a consistent food supply. SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) reducing dependency on fossil fuels for powering processing equipment. SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) partnering with smallholder farmers and investing in local processing facilities. SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) ensuring vegetables are not wasted. SDG 13 (Climate Action) reducing carbon footprint by utilizing solar systems for processing and preservation.
We plan to scale up through new market development by creating customized market days powered by digital solutions, strategic partnerships and collaboration with International NGOs, other stakeholders, and expansion of farmers network.
