The Challenge

Farmers Lose. Middlemen Win.

Tomato farming in Nigeria is plagued by two structural failures that hurt farmers most. At harvest, bumper crops flood local markets, prices crash, and farmers struggle to sell their produce before it rots. Exploitative middlemen buy cheap and sell dear.

Then in the off-season, scarcity drives prices sky-high — but farmers have already moved on or lost their crops to waste. The farmers who grew the food rarely benefit from high retail prices.

Simkay was specifically designed to break this cycle.
